Step By Step Guide To Building Your Own PC

If you need to have your own PC at home, there is no need to shell out thousands of dollars for it. It would be cheaper if you can assemble it on your own wherein all you have to do is to purchase the separate components needed for your PC. The advantage to this is that you can look for cheaper components that are of good quality and you won’t have to spend on professional fees to experts. The downside is that you need to have some level of technical expertise in order to do it correctly.

To help you build your own PC, take note of the step by step guide below:

  1. Look for a well-lit and clean area for you to work in. Make sure there is a power outlet nearby. There has to be sufficient space to accommodate the monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, and other accessories.
  2. Gather all of the necessary tools you need to work with. You must also install anti-static precautions while working.
  3. Prepare all of the components you need to work with when building your PC. If possible, keep them in their packaging until you are ready to use them.
  4. Unwrap all of the components to your PC system. Do this carefully and place them on your work area. If you need a hand in lifting some of the heavy components, such as the CPU and monitor, ask for help if possible.
  5. Retrieve the cables from the corresponding packages and fit them into the monitor. Consult the manual to ensure that you are doing it correctly. Use the corresponding cables to connect the other components into the system.
  6. At this point, do not connect to the device to a power outlet yet. Make sure that you review the instruction manual and note that all of them had been followed according to instruction.
  7. When you are absolutely sure that all of the cables are properly connected to where they need to go, you can perform a test run. Connect the device to a power outlet and switch on the Power button. You can usually find it in the front panel of your CPU.
  8. If the unit has successfully turned on, you will hear a single bleep. This is the BIOS software indicating that the power up process was done successfully. As soon as the loading process completes, you will be taken to the home screen wherein you can navigate the various features of your PC.

Assembling your own PC is very simple, provided that you know the various components of your system. You should therefore invest time to get familiar with them first before you proceed to the steps above. And if you are in doubt, always ask for help from someone with more knowledge on building a PC to avoid more trouble in the future.
